Are you living an Overcomer Life? If you have lived long enough, you have had plenty of personal set backs, defeats and losses. Things like job firing, business failures, divorces or even the loss of your health all take their toll physically, emotionally and especially spiritually. These defeats can leave us with a lifetime of wounds and create in us confusion and vagueness because of all of the rejection. In short, we can have an Identity Crisis. The challenge is that if you stay in this place too long then you can create new limiting self beliefs. It is much like turning two magnets in the repelling direction. Although the repelling force is invisible, it is nonetheless a very powerful and viable deterrent to any correction. All of this happens at the subconscious level and over time these set backs can ultimately determine who you believe you are. What you need is a new identity because remember " You're an Overcomer "
But what happens to our identity when we experience failure? Or lose someone’s favor? Or become burnt out in our jobs or place of service? The very foundation of our identity is shaken and altered, resulting in us hustling to define ourselves by something or someone else. A stable sense of self cannot fully exist when we place our identity in external things. When circumstances change, our identity constantly changes too.
We may receive an overwhelming amount of messages telling us to define ourselves by external measures, but what would it look like to base our identity on the way God sees us? Benner states that “an identity grounded in God would mean that when we think of who we are, the first thing that would come to mind is our status as someone who is deeply loved by God.” To see what it looks like to live this out, welcome the Overcomer Testimonials.
